y word in season this month for you is about getting and keeping any and all "spiritual advantages" which God may have for you. Certainly you would prefer to win rather than to lose. Clearly, you would rather defeat your enemy instead of being defeated by your enemy. Obviously, you'd rather be the victor than the victim. Yet, there are countless Believers who are spiritual victims because no one ever told them how to get the God advantage. Well, you're about to find out how!
Personal Prophecy = The God Advantage
Just as prayer allows you to talk to God, prophecy allows God to talk back to you. God has placed this "real-time" supernatural gift of prophecy in His Church to openly show you His heart. Prophecy reveals to you that God both likes and loves you. It shows you He is very emotional towards you! Prophecy reveals that God is for you not against you, and that He is not eternally angry with you.
But even more than this, God uses prophecy to give you the winning edge, the superior position, the benefit, the upper hand, to put the odds in your favor. In a word, God uses personal prophecy to give you the advantage in battle—the God advantage.
Seven Basic Power Points Of Prophecy
Sometimes all you need is one prophetic word from God to turn the battle in your favor, because a genuine prophetic word carries with it great power and authority. It is one of the deadliest weapons in your arsenal.
2 Kings 6:8-18:
Elisha Traps Blinded Arameans:
8. "Now the king of Aram was at war with Israel. After conferring with his officers, he said, 'I will set up my camp in such and such a place.'
9. "The man of God sent word to the king of Israel: 'Beware of passing that place, because the Arameans are going down there.' 10. So the king of Israel checked on the place indicated by the man of God. Time and again Elisha warned the king, so that he was on his guard in such places.
11. "This enraged the king of Aram. He summoned his officers and demanded of them, 'Will you not tell me which of us is on the side of the king of Israel?'
12. "'None of us, my lord the king,' said one of his officers, 'but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the very words you speak in your bedroom.'
13. "'Go, find out where he is,' the king ordered, 'so I can send men and capture him.' The report came back: 'He is in Dothan.' 14. Then he sent horses and chariots and a strong force there. They went by night and surrounded the city.
15. "When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. 'Oh, my lord, what shall we do?' the servant asked.
16. "'Don't be afraid,' the prophet answered. 'Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.'
17. "And Elisha prayed, 'O LORD, open his eyes so he may see.' Then the LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
18. "As the enemy came down toward him, Elisha prayed to the LORD, 'Strike these people with blindness.' So he struck them with blindness, as Elisha had asked."
Here are seven basic power points of prophecy based on 2 Kings chapter six. Please read carefully verses 8-18. You may even want to make a copy of these seven points and carry them in your Bible.
1. During times of war JUST ONE PROPHETIC WORD FROM GOD can give you the God advantage! It can give you the "jump" on your enemy. It will serve to "warn" you and to make you "watchful," just like it did for the king of Israel. Read verses 8-10. Prophecy is for the purpose of giving you a distinguishable "God advantage" in your life and ministry. In life, the one with the advantage always wins! It's time for you to win!
2. JUST ONE PROPHETIC WORD FROM GOD will cause you to know God's specific strategy for your life! Read verse 9. Prophecy gives you God's personal strategy for your natural and spiritual life. A strategy is a carefully worked out plan of action. Today, you need His "carefully worked out plan" for your life. Prophecy provides it!
3. JUST ONE PROPHETIC WORD FROM GOD will cause you to look beyond the natural and into the supernatural! Read verse 16. Prophecy causes you to "see" and to think beyond your natural and often contrary circumstances. It causes you to think supernaturally, to think the way God thinks.
4. JUST ONE PROPHETIC WORD FROM GOD will reveal God's perspective for your situation! Read verse 16. Remember, His spirit realm based perspective may contradict with your natural realm based perspective. But prophecy always reveals God's opinion—the one opinion you need when the battle is raging. Remember, there are facts, then there is truth. With God, supernatural truth always wins out over natural facts. Prophecy reveals supernatural truth and will always override natural facts.
5. JUST ONE PROPHETIC WORD FROM GOD will cause you to see the "odds" in your favor! Read verse 16: It says, "Those who are with us are more..." Prophecy often gives you the outcome, the ultimate victory for your life regardless of the impossibility of the current natural situation you are facing.
6. JUST ONE PROPHETIC WORD FROM GOD will ultimately increase your faith. Read verse 17. Prophecy will give you insight into the spirit realm. You will begin to see what God sees, which is the key to living by faith. Ultimately, faith is the key to your victory.
7. JUST ONE PROPHETIC WORD FROM GOD will literally connect you to the unlimited power of God for your life! Read verse 17. In this verse horses and chariots represented God's power and presence in the situation. Prophecy unleashes the power of God into your life.

- Cause you to see beyond the natural into the supernatural!

So, go wherever you have to go and do whatever it takes to get a genuine prophetic word from God. You'll be glad you did! One prophetic word from God can change your life forever. It's time for you to win. It's time for you to get the God advantage!
