O God, awaken us!

Doug Addison:
"The Last Move of God Was the Wilderness"

On September 8, 2009, I had a night vision in which I was taken to an aerial view of various parts of the world. I was shown vast landscapes of lush grasslands that were teeming with new life. I could see exotic plants and trees and I knew in my spirit that what I was seeing was a new move from God that had come upon the earth to bring about a radical revival. Suddenly, a massive wave of destruction came upon the greenery. The whole scene was consumed and only a barren wasteland was left in its place. I watched in shock and felt disappointed and distressed at what I had witnessed. Then the audible voice of God spoke to me in the vision and said, "I released something new from Heaven but My people were not ready for it, so I had to bring a wilderness time to purge things that were not of Me." As I woke from the experience a very strong presence of God was in my bedroom.

Something New Started in 2005

The Holy Spirit spoke to me that God planned the start of something new in 2005, that would bring about a new level of anointing. This new level was intended to awaken a new revival. But because we were not ready for it, He changed it into a wilderness time instead. From 2005 to 2009, many people struggled through a major time of purging, testing and realignment. Wilderness experiences from God are necessary in order to refine and prepare us.

Hosea 2:14-15 NIV "Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her. There I will give her back her vineyards, and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope..."

God released many promises to the Church in 2005. Some promises have been delayed and are now being released. Our ministry was located in Los Angeles around that time. We were gathering the resources and people to start a training and outreach center near Hollywood. We had been given a sizable grant to support the work, but in 2005 it was as though every door closed for us. We eventually gave the grant back and moved to Moravian Falls, North Carolina. We were literally placed in the wilderness (we lived in the woods of North Carolina) and we experienced a very difficult time for three years, including a very limited amount of influence and favor. Then in 2009, we were suddenly sent back to the West Coast to start a training center—this time in Santa Maria, California.

We are now in a time of realignment and restarting. Many prophetic words and promises got sidetracked or delayed, and some are now void because of the sudden switch in the spirit. If you have gone through difficult and unclear times over the past few years, this may very well be the reason why. Had God allowed the new movement to come in the condition we were in, it may have destroyed us.

A Time of Awakening

Throughout the month of September, I kept hearing a line from a song on the radio, "Wake me up when September ends." This is very much like the call going out from God right now—He will be waking many of His people up in the month of October. This is the time to press in to God and ask Him for more clarity. We will all see some type of answered prayer during this month. You will need to watch for it. Those who are not paying attention may miss this fresh time of God's visitation. God is visiting our situations, our families, jobs, relationships, and ministries, and a trumpet blast is going out to call people to awaken! We will see some strange events in the months to come and a massive amount of sudden changes and turnarounds. If we stay centered on God, we will not be shaken.

Check for yourself—think back and look at the year 2005 and see if anything unusual happened. Were you going one direction when things switched and seemed to dry up? As I have asked people this question, I am hearing story after story of how God had either made a promise that didn't seem to work out, or some even saw a new move of God start that suddenly got cut off.

This is what I believe God is saying, "Just as suddenly as things changed and were cut off in 2005, I am now renewing and reviving situations—suddenly! I am parting the Red Sea once again and making the impossible possible. Watch Me, and give Me glory as your life and ministry are restored and renewed in this very hour."

Prayer: "God, awaken us to what You are doing in our lives right now. Give us eyes to see and ears that can hear what You are doing. Amen."

Look to the bright morning ahead!

Scott Hicks:

"Morning is Coming!"

It is obvious that we are living in a difficult time, a time of uncertainty for many; and as I seek the Lord for direction and answers, He has helped me see my surroundings in a "new light." There are a few characteristics of the dark hours that are before us, but if we look ahead and at His face, we will begin to "see morning."

I know many feel what I am feeling and are as uncertain as I was, and I pray this fresh prophetic outlook will exhort you and comfort you in these hours. It is obvious that the world is getting darker and sin abounds in every direction we look. Scripture tells us that in the last days "...the hearts of many will grow cold because of iniquity." That is a fact, whether we like it or not. Also, Jesus said many things concerning the "last days"—no matter how long those last days are, He still said there would be sin, wars, rumors of wars and earthquakes, etc... BUT, God never points down a darkened road without always showing us the way out or the light at the end.

"Come in, and Shut the Door"

All through Scripture God has shown mankind a way of escape in troubled times. Genesis 7:1 says in Noah's day, God said: "Come thou...into the ark..." By reading that, I believe God was already in the ark when He told Noah to come in and shut the door. That same ark of security exists today, all we have to do is enter in and shut the door and we will be protected.

Another example in Exodus 12:7 tells us they were told to go in and apply the blood of the lamb over their door posts and they would not be touched. The same remains today; we can still apply the Blood of the Lamb over the entrance to our house and we will be protected. There are many more instances in Scripture that show us God's protection to His people; these are just a few to show you the pattern of God's protection—to understand what we must do in these dark days.

Revelation 4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in Heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, "Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter."

Matthew 25:10 And while they went to buy, the Bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with Him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

Over and over in Scripture we can see an opening of a door, and that an entering in took place, and then the door was shut. God's protection was inside what He has called you into! "...Them that do My will and obey My words..." God is calling us into His presence and security now, will you obey?

Do You Have Your Praise Ready? Joy Comes in the Morning

Psalm 30:5 says, "For His anger endureth but a moment; in His favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."

Yes, it's dark now when you lift your head long enough to look at your surroundings. Have you taken the time to notice that things look just the same at 11:59 PM as they do at 12:00 AM? Joy comes in the morning! Many things instantly happen in a split second (a twinkling of an eye) during the midnight hour. An old day dies and a new day is birthed. Yesterday is gone and tomorrow has arrived. The date changes from past to present.

Acts 16:25-26 But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were loosed.

Scripture tells us at midnight they began praising...but we know at 11:59 PM they were figuring out which song they were going to sing once tomorrow came! Do you have your praise ready? In a few seconds midnight will be here and it will be a new day! It will still be dark outside and you may still be wearing some old chains, but Joy comes in the morning.

It is interesting enough that in Genesis, the creation account says over and over "...and the evening and the morning were the first day...and the evening and the morning were the second day...and the evening and the morning were the third day...and the evening and the morning were the fourth day...and the evening and the morning were the fifth day...and the evening and the morning were the sixth day...and on the seventh day He rested..."

It never says from sun up to sun up was the day...from evening when it's dark until morning is the day!

It may be dark outside my friends, but Joy comes in the morning! He's calling us to come in and shut the door.

Rejoicing Always

Rejoicing in the Midst of All Things

By Graham Cooke

www.grahamcooke.com

Living in Christ makes us vulnerable to laughter. Laughter is more than a choice; it’s a requirement for us that we be happy. God’s highest plan for our lives includes a desire for us to find, live in, and love the joy that is in Christ. God is good news! His love and presence is an absolute tonic for us.

“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full,” Jesus said in John 15:11. Every time God speaks to us, or reveals more of His nature to us, joy is part of that equation. Beholding Him and becoming like Him is an invitation to party and celebrate with Him. Everything God says to us is designed to bring us into joy. Everything in the Kingdom of Heaven is about gladness, joy, happiness, and laughter. God wants to bring a smile to our faces.

God is joyful because He knows what’s coming next. He knows the final score. When you know the end from the beginning, you can’t help but laugh at all of evil’s schemes and tricks. They become irrelevant when you know that you win. There is a continuous joy in Christ that runs so deep that no one else can even touch it. But to access it, we need to learn how to rejoice in all things.

For me, joy is a safeguard. It’s a shield against the enemy. When the enemy comes, we can laugh in his face—because God laughs at him first.

I once had a dream where I was on a battlefield. We had just fought off the enemy, but we had lost a lot of good people. There weren’t many of us left; we were small and pitiful, to be honest. Every one of us was wounded. I myself had at least a dozen sword gashes on my arms. I was bleeding badly, and was absolutely exhausted.

Suddenly, a trumpet blew, and I saw another enemy army take the field in front of us. I looked around but saw no reinforcements for our battered side. The enemy was powering up. Their ranks were swelling with every passing moment. It was a hopeless fight, but our ragtag band of survivors gathered close together and got ready.

As I set my feet and gritted my teeth in preparation for the enemy’s charge, I noticed a man next to me was dressed as a restaurant waiter. Perfectly-pressed black trousers, a bowtie, a crisp, white shirt, and a white towel slung over his arm.

“What are you doing?” I asked incredulously.

“Would you like the melon or the soup?” he replied.

“What?” I asked.

“Melon or soup?” he said.

“How can you talk about food at a time like this?” I demanded.

The waiter ignored me and went from person to person, asking, “Melon or soup?”

“Are you mad?” I said. “Don’t you see what’s happening? Don’t you see the blood all over the ground? Don’t you see the enemy over there? How can you talk about lunch at a time like this?”

“Mmm-hmm,” he answered. “Melon or soup?”

I lost my temper completely. “Are you stupid or something?” I screamed. “You want to talk about food at a time like this?”

Suddenly, I woke up to find myself shouting, “Talk about food!” in my bedroom. In that instant, I received a powerful revelation, found in Psalm 23:5—“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.”

When we’re on the battlefield just trying to survive the next wave of the enemy, God is thinking about menus. He looks around and says, “What a great place for a picnic! We can have sausage rolls, meat pies, cheese sandwiches. This will be perfect.” He is so secure in who He is and in His power to defeat any enemy that He can feed us in the middle of the worst battle of our lives. And that confidence should be a source of pure joy in our lives.

I Am the Great I Am

Eileen Fisher:

"I Am Not Only Your Beloved, But I Am the Great I Am"

The following prophetic word was given by Eileen Fisher on August 11, 2009 during her weekly Prophetic School of the Holy Spirit meeting in Colorado Springs, Colorado:

"You are to fix your eyes upon Me like that of a servant on the hand of the one they serve; you are to lock hearts with Me so I can heal and protect your hearts, for these days would bring trouble and fear. I say, give Me your ears so I can put the piercing of My hands on them to where you can hear Me plain and clear. I would say, give Me your feet, so I can press fresh oil on your feet; as I oil your feet, this will allow you to slip into the positions I have created for you.

"Your heart has already made the choice to follow Me, your will has already been given to Me. But I say: Now My will shall be given unto you.

"For I am looking for a Bride who is hungry and thirsty. For I am looking for a Bride who, at all costs, will press in until she herself plants kisses of hope upon My cheek and feels the embrace of My arms around her.

"For I am looking for a Bride who will not look for anyone else but her Beloved. For I am looking for a Bride that is so fixed upon Me, she ignores all else around her. Whether it is ugly or whether it is beauty, she has fixed her eyes and has locked her eyes with My eyes."

"You Will Be Crowned With My Glory"

"Tonight I look upon you, and I look upon you with favor and approval. I look upon you, those who are thirsty and who have come to drink of My Spirit. I have looked upon you as those who have said, 'Lord, I want You above all else.'" He replies, "I have found pleasure in your presence.

"Be not quick to quench My Spirit but be quick to flow with Him. For He will take you into places you have only heard about. He will take you places you have only dreamed about. I will burst into your slumber and give you sweet dreams of My presence.

"I will meet you in the marketplaces, and you will find favor, for they will shake their heads "No," yet their mouths will say, 'Yes.' You will find Me in those who are forsaken and abandoned; you will see Me within them pleading for the answers of mercy. You will be the ones I will send with a heart full of mercy.

"My Bride is getting prepared, and you are My Bride. You are going to be filled with My Glory, you will carry My Glory and you will be recognized by My Glory, for you will be crowned with My Glory. When others come and try to put a crown on you, a counterfeit crown, you will cast down that crown, for it would tarnish what is pure and right," says the Lord your God.

"I Am Taking My People into the Secret Places, and They Will Hear the Secrets of My Heart"

"I am taking My people unto Myself into the secret places of the Most High, and as I hide them in this secret place, they will hear the secrets of My heart. In turn, I will give them revelation knowledge of the secrets of their own heart.

"For tonight I am going to grant unto you graciousness," says the Lord. "For I am a God of gracefulness, full of grace, full of mercy, full of purity and power; I am pouring grace into your hearts right now.

"Do not let your hearts be troubled; I am filling it (your heart), letting it be burnt by My fire for divine ownership. For I am branding your hearts tonight," says the Lord. "You will not be given to another, for you have been called by My name. In My name you will live and move. Cry out, and I will show you great and mighty things, for I am not only your Beloved, but I am the Great I Am."

Developing Supernatural Eyesight

Sandie Freed:

"Developing Supernatural Eyesight for this Season and the Days Ahead"

This morning I awoke hearing the voice of God speak to me concerning our spiritual eyesight. He said very plainly that we cannot see properly in this season unless we allow Him to empower us with His eyesight. Actually, the Lord spoke to me concerning the eyesight of Holy Spirit and how we are to properly position ourselves to spend time with Him each day to strengthen our sight. I was reminded of the Word of the Lord I received for the Body of Christ in December 2005 that would span unto the year 2010. From 2006 until 2010, God is desiring that we "see" as He Himself sees our future.

God is back from the future! He has already seen your destiny and His Spirit desires to empower us to see ourselves fulfilling divine destiny. We must remain stable and determined to not be double-minded in this season. I'm sure you are like me, wondering how to develop supernatural eyesight. I have pressed and sought some revelation concerning this.

Spending time each day with Holy Spirit is similar to taking Vitamin A for the natural eyesight. According to the many health professionals, Vitamin A is needed for several metabolic functions, especially for vision. Interestingly, Vitamin A is very effective for "night blindness." So, when we are facing spiritual seasons of great darkness and it is difficult to "see," we need our daily recommended dose of Holy Spirit, right?

Believers, I realize I am being a bit humorous, but I need to make a point. We are living in critical times and we need to see in the spirit in order to make needed shifts that affect our destiny. Consider this example from one of God's creations—the gazelle. You need to understand that God gave the gazelle a tremendous advantage over its predators. A gazelle is quick to move and dart away from any danger. In other words, it is hard to catch! Yet, even more amazing is its eyesight. The gazelle has one eye on each side of its head and can see nearly 360 degrees at once! This means that it is virtually impossible for a predator to sneak up to devour it.

The Devourer

We are at war with the devourer and the Lord does not desire that this predator sneak up on us and steal our future. We are also at the threshing floor, when God separates but also desires to bless us. We must be on guard not to hold back in our giving at this time as it will affect reaping in our next season. Though when I first began to write this article I had no intent on discussing giving, it actually cannot be separated from the devourer who steals if we do not trust God with our finances and the giving of what He is requiring.

Scripture reveals the devourer in Malachi 3:10-11 (AMP):

"Bring all the tithes (the whole tenth of your income) into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now by it," says the Lord of hosts, "if I will not open the windows of Heaven for you and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer (insects and plagues) for your sakes and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground, neither shall your vine drop its fruit before the time in the field," says the Lord of hosts.

Most of us are cognizant of the scriptural basis for tithing and sowing offerings to God. Without desiring to become legalistic, I believe we must give attention to the need to "not forget" God and His house during such despairing economic times. Mammon and the Antichrist spirit are rising up during this season and attempt to cause us to doubt God's ability to supernaturally move mountains for us. (I have just written an entire book on the Antichrist Spirit called Conquering the Antichrist Spirit, which you can order on the ElijahList. I encourage you to read it so that you can develop supernatural eyesight for victory in this season.)

We are warring against mountains of doubt and unbelief concerning the economy, provision and God's ability to cycle us out of the wilderness. Our only hope for the future is to fully trust God. Though we may not be able to "see" where the Lord may be leading, we must know in our hearts that He is able to make a way where there seems to be no way. We must remember the One who created the universe is the One who is really in control. God will always honor our seasons of sowing into His purposes. However, the enemy twists truth and speaks lies concerning our provision—especially in such uncertain times.

The devourer is connected to the words "locusts" and "caterpillar" which are the two most devastating threats to a harvest. Yet, God says in Joel 2:21-26 (AMP) that we are not to fear because He will restore what the devourer has destroyed!

Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice, for the Lord has done great things! Be not afraid, you wild beasts of the field, for the pastures of the wilderness have sprung up and are green; the tree bears its fruit, and the fig tree and the vine yield their (full) strength. Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord, your God; for He gives you the former or early rain in just measure and in righteousness, and He causes to come down for you the rain, the former rain and the latter rain, as before.

And the (threshing) floors shall be full of grain and the vats shall overflow with juice (of the grape) and oil. And I will restore or replace for you the years that the locust has eaten—the hopping locust, the stripping locust, and the crawling locust, My great army which I sent among you. And you shall eat in plenty and be satisfied and praise the name of the Lord, your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you. And My people shall never be put to shame.

Dear ones, when you sow seed into God's purposes, you need supernatural eyesight to see God plans to provide for us—even in difficult seasons. We are instructed to not allow fear to control our obedience to God. Fear links us to our past and blocks our future. The Lord has plans to multiply our harvest—even though we can't "see" it in the natural! This is why we must see with the eyesight of Holy Spirit.

Again, I do not desire to focus solely on sowing and reaping with this article. I simply desire that you develop supernatural eyesight so that you can be blessed in your future. Letting go now releases what God desires for the future. And we cannot ignore the fact that the devourer is linked to tithing and giving to God all which belongs to Him. In fact, we ourselves belong to God and we have been set apart unto Him. Therefore, in a way, we sow ourselves into God's Kingdom purposes. All of us experience dark seasons whenever we do not understand the plans and purposes of God. However, since the Lord does not desire that we be caught off guard by any plan of satan, we need the eyes of Holy Spirit.

How to Develop Spiritual Eyesight

Okay, now, here is another "key"—we need the Key of David. We've heard a lot of teachings on David's keys and I am not negating what has been previously taught. I am a prophet and simply want to convey what I am hearing. What I heard the Lord say was that David had the ability to see on the other side of closed doors. In other words, his prophetic gifting and insight empowered him to see the future even though doors were closed before him. Therefore, his ability to see supernaturally was his key to unlock closed doors!

On the other hand, we need our discernment sharpened so that we can properly discern which doors need to be opened. We can speak to mountains until the cows come home (I live on a ranch and believe me it takes them a while...they're slow!), but if God isn't ready to move that mountain, it won't move. We must understand our times and seasons. Some of us are waiting on God for the go-ahead to pray certain directives. To wait means to wait with great faith and expectation. If you have seen your victory and it is not time, trust God and wait in peace while expecting the breakthrough. Look at what Scripture says about the Key of David in the two references of Revelation 3:7 and Isaiah 22:22.

And to the angel (messenger) of the assembly (Church) in Philadelphia write: These are the words of the Holy One, the True One, He Who has the key of David, Who opens and no one shall shut, Who shuts and no one shall open...—Revelation 3:7 (AMP)

Notice that Christ is the One addressing the Church in Philadelphia and He is the One who has the Key of David. The Key which Christ holds is a key that opens and no one can shut and also shuts a door and uses the key to lock it so no one can open. The Lord desires to give us the same key which David had. The Lord desires us to see with supernatural insight what is promised beyond a door that appears shut. Using our key of faith and supernatural ability to see with the eyesight of Holy Spirit, we can open closed doors to our future and then, with faith, lock the door shut to lock out the devourer. We must rise up in faith and declare that the devourer cannot enter into our future!

The key is a representation of a key given to one who occupies a royal palace and can admit or exclude anyone from entrance. I believe God is opening the Heavens to us as a royal priesthood and is releasing keys of entrance into areas concerning the supernatural. Use your key of faith to unlock the heavenlies and begin to see with the eyesight of Holy Spirit!

Isaiah 22:22 refers to the "key of the house of David" which is laid upon the shoulder of Christ. ("Shoulder" in this passage represents divine government and authority.) Christ is represented as not only the One possessing the royal house, but also the one who watches over the entrance of others. The key of David's house is symbolic of the key which Christ has. David had his own palace as well as a fortress in Zion. Why did Christ give David a key with so much power? Because David was a man after God's heart! Because David's passion was bent on worshiping the Lord, He was given grace, favor and supernatural insight.

When David saw Goliath, he saw victory and not defeat. How could he do this when others remained fearful? It is because David saw beyond a closed door. He had spent hours alone with sheep and chose his time with his harp to worship and praise God. David knew God and therefore could see God. Spending time with God will empower you with supernatural eyesight!

Noah was one who walked with God (Genesis 6:9). To walk with God does not mean spending countless hours in prayer attempting to look religious and be legalistic. No! To walk with God means that we include Him in our lives and decisions on a daily basis. Spending time with God means that He is always in our thoughts and we have completely surrendered our lives to Him. When we walk with Him our supernatural eyesight is sharpened and we are empowered to see with eyes of His Spirit, and therefore are not afraid of our natural circumstances.

Moving Past Legalism and Religious Mindsets

In order to fully see with supernatural vision, we must move beyond our religious mindsets which link us to the past. Legalism will always attempt to have a seated position in our lives whenever we are afraid of our future. We are easily tempted to go back to a formula or an old pattern when we are faced with challenges.

There is a Gideon's army arising, and therefore there is a testing at the waters. I'm sure that you remember the story, but let's take a quick look at the method of testing:

...And the LORD said to Gideon, "Everyone who laps from the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, you shall set apart by himself; likewise everyone who gets down on his knees to drink." And the number of those who lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, was three hundred men; but all the rest of the people got down on their knees to drink water. Then the LORD said to Gideon, "By the three hundred men who lapped I will save you, and deliver the Midianites into your hand..."—Judges 7:5-7

I have always wondered about God's methods as He weeded Gideon's army. After much study and asking God concerning this, I have realized that the men who did not pass the testing at the waters knelt down, and also looked down at the waters. They were concerned as to what was immediately before their eyes and were somewhat self-centered and self-absorbed. Remaining concerned with our immediate and present situations with no concern for the future will link us to our past. We have to remain positioned properly and develop supernatural vision which is linked to a hope for our future.

Those who cupped their hands and lapped the water were able to see the enemy from afar. The cupping of hands is symbolic of being able to hold onto the Word of God which is the Living Water. There needs to be a daily washing of His Word in order to fully see in this season. Gideon's chosen army was not concerned with just their personal provision, but they were also alert and on guard, watching out for the others. Their vision was larger; they saw into possibilities concerning their future. This is a perfect example of being empowered with a new level of supernatural vision and always being positioned to give assistance to others when needed.

I am also reminded of David who used His keys to unlock a particular door. The door he opened was a door which blocked intimacy with God because of legalism. Do you remember the story of when David forbade the law concerning eating the showbread? Well, the law stated that only the priests could partake of the "holy bread." Yet David knew through his intimacy with God that he was sanctified and could partake of it. David understood that the law was made for man; man was not made for the law! This is another use of the key. We are not to be bound up with an old legalistic system.

When Jesus was addressing the spirit of legalism, He commended David for his actions (see Matthew 12:3-5). Jesus is commending those of us who know who we are in God and are not afraid of seeing through seemingly closed doors and using our keys of faith to go through the narrow places which are attempting to block our future!

The Woman With the Issue of Blood

Let me remind you again that I am attempting to guide you into developing supernatural vision. Remember the woman with the issue of blood? The reason she pressed to touch the hem of Jesus' garment was out of her desperation for healing and knowing that God would heal her; thus, she was able to supernaturally see her victory. Sometimes God will allow desperation to empower us to press further than ever before. If you are in a desperate situation, it is a perfect opportunity to develop supernatural vision.

I believe that our greatest victories lie ahead of us. It is a season when we can press into God on a daily basis, hear His voice, and see with the eyes of Holy Spirit. Every day deserves a fresh start with the Lord. Don't you agree? Be encouraged. God is always faithful—no matter what it looks like in the natural.

My prayer for you: Father, I pray that Your children begin to develop supernatural eyesight that comes from walking daily with You. I pray that Holy Spirit manifests in a tangible way to each person and that He guides Your precious ones into all truth. Father, just as Saul had the scales of his eyes removed so that he could see, I pray that the scales of our eyes are also removed. As Elisha prayed for his servant to see that there were more that were for them than were against them, I pray for each person to see with that same supernatural vision. I ask that You empower us for our future and great victory. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Walk with Him like Enoch!

Ivan Roman:

"God is Raising Up a People to Walk with Him as Enoch - To Be Naturally Supernatural and Fall in Love with Heaven"

During dinner recently, I heard the voice of the Lord say in my spirit, "Who are they? They prophesy like prophets. They love the lost like evangelists. They heal like healers." Then I heard the Lord say, "They are My sons and daughters." One of the most important messages in this hour is the message of "sonship." Before we can walk in the fullness of our destiny we must have the revelation of who we are and Whose we are. This last days outpouring is not for superstars, but for sons and daughters.

"And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions."—Joel 2:28

In prayer recently, I asked the Lord, "What does a manifest son of God look like?" I heard the Lord say, "Enoch." I began to study the life of Enoch, and although there is not a lot about him in Scripture, there is enough to inspire us to be supernaturally natural. As Christians we shouldn't separate who we are from what we do—we are children of God; everything we do in life should flow from this place. We are called the temple of the Holy Spirit; we are carriers of the glory of God.

On the Cross, Jesus' last words were, "...It is finished" (John 19:30). In the Greek that phrase literally means paid in full. Paid in full was a term used in Christ's day in the marketplace. The work of the Cross must be released into the marketplace instead of being limited to a good church service. Christianity was never intended to be an event but a lifestyle. As we peer into the life of Enoch with fresh eyes, we will understand more clearly our role in this life: to walk with God as His sons and daughters.

What it Means to Walk with God
and How to Do it

One of the few things noted about Enoch in Scripture is that he "...walked with God..." (Genesis 5:24). I believe Enoch's greatest endeavor was to walk with the Most High. Fellowshipping with the Lord was His greatest passion. This is a great contrast and warning to many today. Success in the Kingdom is not how well known we are on earth. I heard Bill Johnson, Pastor of Bethel Church in Redding, California, once say, "We are to be known in Heaven and feared in hell." Friendship with God—walking with God—is what matters at the end of the day. How well we know God should be the pursuit of every Believer. Our identity should never be found in what we do for a living, or even in what we do for God. Our identity must spring from our relationship with our Father.

"And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him."—Genesis 5:24

The word walked in the Hebrew is halak, which means to walk up and down. The understanding is Enoch had numerous visitations into Heaven. We are in a season where the door of Revelation 4:1 has been opened and the invitation is still the same, "...Come up here." This statement may be very controversial, but the Lord is raising up people that live in the reality that Heaven is their home now. There will be such a revelation of this that, like David, we will say, "I am a stranger in the earth..." (Psalm 119:19).

"These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return. But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them."—Hebrews 11:13-16

My prayer has been that the Lord would allow me to peer into Heaven and have a glimpse of eternity—my real home. When the reality of eternity touches our hearts we won't hold on to temporal things the way we do. God is raising up a company of people that possess the heart of Enoch. To walk with God in the supernatural, to fall so in love with Heaven that God says, "Since you are here so much, why don't you just stay?" People that have a heavenly, eternal perspective behave and speak differently like the mystics of old; they stand out from the rest of society.

In the midst of busyness, the Scripture says to "Be still, and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10). I encourage you to learn to find stillness in any environment. As a traveling minister, I have found it necessary to treasure moments of silence, whether it be in a busy airport, or on a crowded plane. In the midst of noise I can find quiet in my heart. In doing this I'm not reaching out to a God that is somewhere off in the expanse, but to my Father and Friend who dwells in me. A genuine relationship with God inspires people around us; not with mere doctrine, but with passion—a real knowing of God.

"Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah."—Genesis 5:21

We see from this Scripture that Enoch had a child, so we can speculate that he had a wife. We read in Jude that he was a prophet (see verse 14). Enoch wasn't hiding off in the caves somewhere. He had responsibilities as a father and a husband and yet he was able to find time to walk with his God. Enoch's life is to be an example to us of a lifestyle of prayer and the supernatural, not merely listening to the Spirit in a Christian setting, but walking in the Spirit—in a continual attitude of prayer with one ear toward Heaven.

Isaiah 50 says that the Lord awakens our ears morning by morning. Continual communion with God is possible, and it's desired by the Father. The most common excuse in North America is, "I don't have time." The thing that the Lord desires of us is our time! In Revelation 3:18 Jesus says to come buy from Him gold refined in the fire. It is interesting that Jesus says to buy from Him. The question then is, "What is the price of the gold?" A friend of mine asked the Lord this question. The Lord responded, "Your life, but I'll take your time for now." According to Matthew 6:6, it's very important to go into a secret place to pray to have alone time with God.

Smith Wigglesworth is quoted as saying, "I don't pray more than 15 minutes, but I don't go more than 15 minutes without praying." When the understanding of prayer becomes more about fellowshipping with our God—Father and Friend—it will no longer be our duty as Christians, but a privilege and the longing desire of our hearts. Modern technology is awesome, but it can be a great distraction from the simplicity of devotion to God.

We Must Be Willing to Allow the Holy Spirit to Set Us Apart

Lastly, Enoch means dedicated or consecrated. If we desire to walk with God like Enoch walked, we must be willing to allow the Holy Spirit to set us apart. I had a dream recently where a man I recognize as a prophetic voice said to me, "Do you want to know the keys to visitation?" He said, "Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?" Immediately in my spirit I heard, "He who has clean hands and a pure heart."
Then the man looked at me and said, "In quietness and stillness." As we quiet ourselves before God and wait in His presence, His Holy Spirit will begin to release His very nature into our beings. Holiness is not a bad word. Holiness is to be like Christ. Holiness is not about what you do or don't do—it's not a set of rules. Out of our relationship with God we begin to learn what He loves and hates; then we choose because of love and do the things He loves.

As we learn to rest in the presence of God, His manifest glory will begin to remain upon us. The leaders in Jerusalem perceived that Peter and John were uneducated and untrained men, but marveled when they heard them speak—they knew they had been with Jesus (see Acts 4:13). When we spend time with Jesus, His presence stays with us. The angels love the presence of God, and if you are a carrier, they are surrounding you as well. People who walk with God change atmospheres wherever they go, at their mere presence. In the book of Acts it says people laid the sick out on mats so that Peter's shadow could touch them, and they would be healed.

Charles Finney once walked into a factory and the workers fell to their knees crying out, "What must we do to be saved?" The reality of the presence and glory of God is being released to the Church. Our eyes are opening to see how the light of God's glory dwelling in us affects the world around us.

"To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."—Colossians 1:27

What the Life of Enoch Teaches Us

Enoch is a type of a manifest or mature son of God. His life shows us that in the midst of having responsibilities (children or work) he was still able to walk with God in deep communion. God is calling us to walk with Him—to be supernaturally natural—having our heads in the Heavens and our feet on the earth, walking out His plans.

The life of Enoch teaches us many things: to find our success in being a friend of God, to live a life where the presence of God is cherished above any earthly treasure, and that Heaven is our home now. Know that when we walk with God, His desires become our desires and His likes become our likes. I've heard the invitation to come up here, and to that I say, "Yes, Lord!"
